...My mother was an Algebra teacher and I have been fascinated by it since I saw her textbook when I was in fourth grade. I remember telling her, "if you tell me what 'x' equals I can solve this problem." While I now know how to figure out what "x" equals and want to help others figure it out too. ...As an engineer with IBM, I completed my MS, also in ME and Optimization Math. My professional work involved machine design, computer simulation, and optimization (a lot of Math!). I love Math, and the Sciences, and have extensive applied experience. This helps me to find more and varied ways to explain the foundational aspects of Math and Science in problem solving.
