...In Physical Science, students have to bring together a variety of skills. It requires thinking concretely about experiments, understanding abstract concepts that apply to them, learning technical vocabulary, and setting up and solving mathematical problems. I taught Physical Science for a number of years, and I understand the ways that students struggle in the course. (read more)
...I believe that learning is a journey and a skill best accompanied by a knowledgeable, patient, and understanding coach. I specialize in high school and college level mathematics, chemistry, and physics, as well as proofreading and editing papers and lab reports. I excel at providing multiple ways to approach a single problem, as well as giving real life examples of abstract concepts. (read more)
...Courses have included elementary algebra, trigonometry, geometry, calculus at first- and second-year and advanced levels, abstract algebra, introductory number theory, and other subjects. Probably more than half the students I have tutored have been taking first-year calculus.I have taught first... (read more)
...I like to see what my student sees in the numbers, so that I can identify their shortcomings if there are any. I am dedicated to the learning process because I've come to realize that the only thing more fascinating than understanding complex concepts is teaching or simplifying complex concepts. To me that's the ultimate test of knowledge; how much can you pass on? (read more)
...For the past five years, I've aided middle and high-school students in mastering mathematics including pre-algebra, algebra, pre-calculus, and trigonometry. My test scores in math include an 800 Math SAT II, 5 on AP Calc AB, 35 on ACT Math, and 750 on PSAT Math. During the 2022-23 schoolyear, I taught pre-algebra, algebra, and geometry in a classroom setting. (read more)
