...Both my parents teach Computer Science at universities, so I was raised with a way of thinking that's been very useful when it's time to start coding. I've finished all my programming classes with perfect grades, and I'm very good at understanding the logic that it's needed to solve problems. ...If they can relate to materials on a personal level, they will want to learn. Then it will come more quickly and easily. Gaining knowledge is a secondary goal . I understand first hand some of the challenges with learning, as I dealt with the impact of ADHD growing up, and had to learn different techniques to work through all the challenges. (read more)
...I have taken courses on the basics of botany, dendrology and the history of American forests. I currently teach an Advanced Biology course which spends a quarter teaching students the basic principles of botany. I have also taught a Wild Edibles course in the past, which dealt with local edible plants. (read more)
