The formulas and concepts of Math and Engineering are likewise tools to use to complete the task at hand. ...For my capstone, I wrote a 5 minute piece for vocals, bassoon, oboe, and viola. The previous year for a composition seminar, I wrote a piano piece played in RPI's EMPAC concert hall by a professional pianist. I studied composition at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and I took a course called Songwriting Workshop where I wrote 10 songs with lyrics in 15 weeks. (read more)
