...I was the kid that everyone came to when they needed help, so I tutored most of my peers. I made a 30 on the ACT English and a 31 on the ACT reading, which isn't a perfect score, but it's pretty good. I am an English whiz; it's my absolute favorite subject. (read more)
...And by the end of my Senior year, I had left my legacy at my elementary school. In my four years of teaching and tutoring at the elementary school, I received phone calls from many parents thanking me for all the time I spent with their children and thanking me for how much they have improved. I have a way of connecting the student to the material in a way that will never be forgotten. (read more)
...I believe that the biggest problem with students in chemistry is a lack of pertinence in the subject. Students are naturally drawn to that which interests them, and, unfortunately, most of an introductory chemistry class is just laying foundation for more interesting concepts later. One of the ways I address this problem is by showing relevant uses of the concepts being covered. (read more)
