...I studied phonics extensively including word origins to be able to better determine pronunciation, sound blends, commonly used letter combinations, etc. Phonics is so key to learning so many other English concepts. Students who master phonetic ideas are better spellers, learn word meanings from context clues more easily, and have much better reading fluency. (read more)
