I have been an avid reader all of my life, and as a result, majored in English at UNC-Wilmington. Many of my classes were focused on great writers and literature. Many of those courses also involved poetry, which I applied to writing my own poems and lyrics to songs that I composed. (read more)

After a successful teaching career, I was employed by the New York State United Teachers, the largest labor union in New York State, as a Labor Relations Specialist.
