...The second class dealt more with strategies for whole groups. While taking classes, I worked (under the advisement of a literacy pedagogy professor) with a local homeless child on developing her own set of decoding skills so that she could enter kindergarten this fall. ...A lot of this experience involves using math concepts learned at the high school level. I love teaching and encouraging school students to develop the confidence in taking up math challenges.
