...I think this is due to the fact that geometry is often a student's first exposure to proofs and deductive reasoning. Having studied math for many years, I know first hand that proving mathematical claims can be hard, and geometry is no exception. The same is true for many word problems in geometry, which often don't have an obvious method of solving. (read more)
