...Despite over ten years of experience tutoring, I've always kept tutoring as a part-time thing with a limited number of students. I prefer it this way so I can get to know my pupils better. In addition, this arrangement means that I usually have enough free time to be flexible in case the student needs an extra session for a test or midterms, or has to reschedule because of conflicts. ...I find visual teaching to be extremely effective. Graphic images give the desired method tangibility. Whether I'm using actual objects or simply writing out the method, this helps one easily identify terms. (read more)
