...The tests are very similar and predictable. Recent successes include an 11 year old being accepted into Horace Mann, a 9 year old scoring at grade 8 and 9 level in all sections of the ISEE and a 17 year old that scored a perfect 800 in Sat math level 2 and has been accepted into the University of Pennsylvania. ...I accomplish this by focusing on improving a student's problem solving ability, a skill that is not often taught well in school. I have worked with students with learning disabilities as well as gifted students taking advanced classes or classes beyond their grade level. ...Despite over ten years of experience tutoring, I've always kept tutoring as a part-time thing with a limited number of students. I prefer it this way so I can get to know my pupils better. In addition, this arrangement means that I usually have enough free time to be flexible in case the student needs an extra session for a test or midterms, or has to reschedule because of conflicts.
