...I have though grades 3, 4, and 5 (mostly bridge classes). Last year I was a staff developer training teachers at my school. I believe that children learn best by doing. This is why I include a lot of hands-on materials, kinesthetic activities, different strategies to learn a skill, and positive reinforcements. (read more)
I believe that when math makes sense, students can finally understand it. They need strategies, multiple techniques and an organized approach. I have a Masters degree in general education, however, I have been passionate about math and have helped students "make sense" of middle school and high school math courses for over 10 years.
