...The transition between fairly concrete arithmetic and the more abstract algebra concepts can be difficult at times, but the rewards are exciting. Understanding Pre-algebra fully relies on a strong foundation in number sense and concepts such as ratios. Seeing students strengthen their foundation and expand their understanding of what math looks like is one of my favorite parts of teaching. (read more)
