...I also performed scientific studies of human perception and behavior. Statistics is a course some students dread because they feel they are just not good at math. One of the real pleasures in teaching this course was to calm their fears -- see the light come on, see them loosen up and start actually enjoying the experience of learning what they thought they could never learn.
