...Then as I go, I like to pull away little by little, letting them do the parts they understand and assisting with the problem areas. It's like teaching a child to ride a bike, you don't get on the bike with them and peddle it, you hold them, then you push them then you are just there in case they fall. As a former UCLA Mathematics Student, I have a passion for Mathematics. I have taught many students in the past, including one student who I brought from struggling with Algebra to proficient in Calculus in less than one year. ...But more often it comes down to correcting a student's way of thinking and studying; or explaining the concepts and meaning behind the numbers. I take a comprehensive approach---showing students not only how to work a problem but how to think through the problem. I show them how to interpret and translate the vocabulary of math so that they can first understand what the question is asking. (read more)
...I am certified in Microsoft PowerPoint 2016 and have been utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint often since then. In University, I have taken a Logic class in the mathematics department and passed the class with an A. In the semesters since, I have taken four more advanced math courses that have strengthened the logic knowledge I learned from this class. (read more)
