...I've enjoyed free-lance tutoring of High School students in Math, Algebra, Trig and Geometry. Few things are more precious than that "aha" moment on a kid's face. ...I have a bachelor's degree in chemistry, with an additional concentration in biology, from the University of Central Missouri. I graduated from UCM in 1990 and have been employed since as a forensic toxicologist for the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Laboratory. ...I tutored for 2 out of the 3.5 years that I was there and enjoyed every minute of it. Although I have the most experience with tutoring college students, I am excited to work with any student population. The approach that brought me the most success was when I would be with the student one on one or a small group, and really listen to where the student was struggling. (read more)
